If you were rejected for funding, what was the reason given?
The proposal was late
The proposal was incomplete
The project idea was too narrow
The proposal was poorly written
The project did not match the funder’s mission
The reviewer did not trust the ability of the organization to run what sounded like a good program
Funder did not have sufficient funds to underwrite the project
If you lost, take constructive action and find out why. This will be helpful in the future. If possible, get the scoring sheets. In the long run, finding out why a proposal was rejected may be the best way to assure success the next time around.
