I enjoy music, hiking, and the arts.
I am also drawn to the simplicity of Zen and for that reason, am indebted to Alok Hsu Kwang-han, who introduced me to Zen Calligraphy.
This art form, creating through non-doing, is said to arise from a state of not knowing, mu-shin or no mind, in which thought, emotions, and expectations do not matter. The original strokes were made on 12”x18” xuan (rice) paper using poems, koans, or haiku as inspiration. I donate my art to projects raising funds to help children with special needs.
